A Simple Easy Way to Release Lower Back Pain

Stretching and Twisting May Not Be the Best Way to Release Pain in Your Lower Back

“Shaking” can help release lower back pain better than traditional stretching and twisting.

In addition, shaking can help relieve stress by stimulating the autonomic nervous system that regulates bodily processes.

  • Upregulation (Up Regulation) increases the energy available in the body.
  • Downregulation (Down Regulation) decreases it.

When the body experiences stress, the autonomic nervous system “upregulates” and elevates bodily functions increasing energy. However, the body can also overreact to stressors, such as work or family pressure, which can take a toll on your health.

“Deregulation” is then needed to bring energy levels back down, lowering heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure. This brings the nervous system back to neutral and resets bodily functions.

Shaking the body can help ease an overstimulated nervous system and calm the body back down.

Editor’s Note

I tried this out. To help me keep my balance, I start by with my hands in front of me on a counter top. Then I begin to shake. I move one hand to my side for a while and then put it back on the countrtop. Then I do the same with the other hand. And the I move both hands from the countertop.
